First time to dine in to this restaurant and my goodness the food was delicious for me, my husband didn't like the corn bread because it was just blend for his taste and the seafood gumbo But overall our main course were amazingly delicious. Another thing that my husband wasn't happy was the waitress, it took her a while to bring my husband's beer. And the adult dessert too. But when we got the drink called key key lime pie it was yummy we ended up another one. We ended up having 4 waitress to bring our order because our waitress keep disappearing. But we were satisfied with our meal except the service. Food was kinda costly but it was worth it because it was big portions and delicious. I had the shrimp and grits and Oh gosh it as out of this world as I would say it because never anywhere else that taste that good. This is base on my own experience and my taste preference. I apologize for the long review.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was a wonderful experience. I loved the atmosphere, service, and the menu. We had the house made pimiento cheese appetizer, the brisket with mac and cheese, and side salad, and the jambalaya. All were terrific and the price wasn't obscene. Even with a glass of wine and the appetizer, our bill was less than $60. We will definitely be back!

We were gifted a gift card to this place and finally visited. I must say we were pleasantly surprised by the food. I got the southern fried steak and it was good, the side of beans perfectly crunchy and well seasoned, and the gravy over?? Yoooo!! Not sure what kinda magic butter they use in it, but it was awesome! Wife got the fried oysters and they were well seasoned as well. And that cornbread they bring out is super moist and has some hint of citrus and honey or something going on in it that's really good and different. Pretty good selection of whiskeys to choose from. Overall enjoyed it and will definitely be back again.

I enjoyed Southern Pecan. The staff was great and attentive. I ate the quail for an appetizer. It was tasty and the bread served with it was perfect. For my entree I had the chicken and dumplings. The chicken was a little dry but totally edible. I'd never had the doughy style dumplings but they grew on me with each bite. I totally loved the dill flavor! I'll surely return to try more items on the menu.

Cold fries. Bland ceasar salad and chicken. Room temp cornbread. The fryer shrimp was seasoned and cooked decently. The house salad was better than expected and the front of the house manager was as nice as the main manager. Seating is quite snug. Huge bar at the entrance. Many options on the menu ranging from breakfast faves to hearty low country and gulf specialties. However, seasoning is quite senior citizen palate friendly. So it is a great place to take something with a gluten allergy or high blood pressure. If you are a foodie, its meh. Phipps Place must have a hidden gem in the mist. This is not it.
