WOW. Amazing food. Reasonable prices. Warm atmosphere. I could go on but I'll just recommend you go try this gem NOW! Most people have stopped reading by now but if you haven't, let me tell you about the best country fried steak I've ever had. And red mashed potatoes! Wife had chicken and dumplings! Raved about them. Don't wait. Go now!
Ordered takeout and was disappointed in the portions and flavor. - Ordered the Chicken and Dumplings and they were very bland. It tasted like someone microwaves two halves a biscuit and chicken and dumped white sauce on top. No flavor at all, small portion and the chicken was pink and undercooked. - ordered the tamales appetizer, and it was $11 for three small tamales the size of golf balls. Was a little bit salty. - The southern fried steak was a huge letdown. The steak was two very small super thin cuts, and we're chewy. I have had better southern fried steak from Cracker Barrel and K&W. - The Mac and cheese was a further disappointment. It was literally boiled noodles with a few sprinkles of cheddar cheese on top with a tiny bit of "craft instant" mac and cheese sauce. It was inedible. Overall, it was disappointing to say the least. I tried to give the newly established restaurant a second chance and it further underwhelmed, especially for the location and price. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are better southern upscale restaurants in the area such as Trio in Pineville, King's Kitchen in uptown, and others.
Exceptional food, service and atmosphere serving Gulf coast cuisine. Recommend the deep fried shrimp, mac n cheese, corn souffl, and key lime pie. Cozy ambiance. Large bar with TVs. Outdoor seating. Indoor booths have permanent privacy panels.
Im from Texas and this place reminds me of home. Fantastic Chicken Fried Steak - best in Charlotte! Also excellent Blackened Red Fish and Oysters. Welcome Southern Pecan to Charlotte!
