Charlotte Civic: Songs of our Earth and Premiere of ‘A Story of Carbon’

The Charlotte Civic Orchestra’s May 19th concert features the world premier of Dean Kluesner’s new work, ‘A Story of Carbon (and some other things)’. It is focused on the issue of Climate Change, and traces the history of the Universe, from the Big Bang through the 1st and 2nd Industrial Revolutions, and ends with a look at the condition of the Earth today, as a result of our use of fossil fuels. The orchestra is joined by the Chancel Choir, directed by Pete Leo. The concert also includes ‘Lux’ by Dan Forrest, and the Tragic Overture by Brahms. Tickets are available at the door. ($15 - $12 for Students and Seniors). The concert time is 3:30 pm on Sunday May 19th, and will take place at Matthews United Methodist Church – 801 S. Trade St., Matthews, NC 28105 |
