Historic Latta Plantation is excited to bring the local history of revolutionary Charlotte to life in September. The circa 1800 living-history farm and cotton plantation will buzz with action in honoring the history of the founding of the region as we know it today. Throughout the weekend meet with Colonel Polk and General Lord Cornwallis. Learn of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence and see it’s repercussions as the Revolutionary War makes it’s way through the local communities. Patriot and British soldier camps will be open for visitors to venture through. The main battle will take place at 2 o'clock each day. Appalachian Smoke BBQ and Olde Mecklenburg Brewery will be out serving delicious refreshments so don't forget to bring cash. The reenactment takes place at Historic Latta Plantation located at the very back of the Latta Plantation Nature Preserve at 5225 Sample Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078.
