Bechtler Museum of Modern Art
The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is dedicated to the celebration and analysis of the strongest aspects of mid- century modernism as reflected in the holdings of the Bechtler collection.
Beautiful building and nice staff. The art exhibitions were interesting but one floor was closed during my tour. A very nice gentleman staff member kindly explained some exhibits and also recommended other things to do in the area as well as some restaurant choices. The price is very reasonable and they even gave me a discount since one floor was closed. I recommend this museum if you're in downtown Charlotte.

I loved the art here. It gave me so much inspiration to come back home and continue what I'm doing. It made me feel hopeful in knowing my quality and heart is on par with other great artists. I especially enjoyed the woman's exhibit we were lucky enough to be present for
A quiet museum in the heart of uptown Charlotte. Their focus on modern art, and well curated exhibits is in display throughout the museum. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about all of the pieces on display, and are able to educate visitors in any piece they have questions about. The staff and space also give you the room you might need to take in pieces, which is a great counter to some other musicians that curate a rushed atmosphere as well as world class art.
Wonderful collection and special exhibits. Easy drive and parking. Informative and friendly staff. We are looking forward to return trips as new exhibits are presented.
I like how the galleries and exhibition are place based on the architecture of the building. The biggest gallery is at the highest floor, the last in order but the first to start. There you have a meticulous selection of great women artists. The passage thru the gallery tells you another story of the contemporary art. A story of strong tendencies and of others very interesting variations. The gallery dedicated to The interaction of Color is one of my favorites. I highly recommend to make visiting this museum part of your day at the city.
