Pop-Ups at the Plaza
What you need to know
- This is a highly visible Uptown “billboard” to activate how you please. Suggested promotional opportunities may include promoting upcoming events and/or products, as well as handing out branded giveaway items and promotional materials.
- Staff engagement is key. The most successful campaigns are executed by friendly, outgoing staff that work the crowds. Engagement could include: hands-on activities, a drawing for merchandise or tickets, giving discounts on admission price or merchandise, photo opportunities with a MASCOT, etc. Your creativity is encouraged!

Pop-Up Event Details
Signage
All signage requests that would hang on or in the windows of 329 S. Tryon St. must be approved by CRVA/Wells Fargo prior to the pop-up event. Table top signs that promote the business name or logo are permitted; we ask the sign dimensions stay within 11x18 in size, which could be placed next to or directly on the exhibit table. If the signage’s messaging or visuals is considered inappropriate, the CRVA and Wells Fargo have the right to remove.
Exhibit Space
Vendors participating in pop-up events will exhibit under the awnings, which surround the Visitor Info Center. Depending on the exhibits/vendors scheduled, vendors will be assigned a particular side of the building and will work directly with Linda Durkin, Director of Visitor Services. We will try to accommodate all requests, but we cannot guarantee one will get their first option. Each side of the building spans 20 feet in length and extends 5 feet from the structure.
Exhibit Table/Chairs
CRVA will provide a rollout counter height table and two stools. If you need more than one table, please discuss prior to event. If you need power, a drop cord or a small fan, we can make arrangements prior to your event.
Water/ Electrical
If not occupied, we have two exterior vendor spaces built into our building on each side of the Visitor Info Center. Each space is equipped with sinks, a small grease trap (used for liquids), electrical outlets, lights, a heater and a wall fan. If you prefer access to these amenities, please specify and confirm before event.
Set Up
To unload materials for pop-up events, head to the corner of South Tryon Street and M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard and then move to a secure public parking lot.
Parking
Hourly parking and other paid parking lot options are available on South Tryon Street close to the Visitor Info Center. Parking wages range from $10 to $20 per day. The CATS bus and light rail are also within blocks from our VIC. The closest parking lot is The Green and can be accessed on South College Street (across form the Charlotte Convention Center) off South Tryon Street.
