We absolutely loved our stay at Refuge. Communication re: check in and out was perfect and everything went smoothly. Our room was adorable - great decor - and had everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable. We went to the cocktail lounge (Humbug), as well, and loved it. Really friendly bartenders and delicious drinks.

This boutique hotel is absolutely adorable and the bar in the front called "The Lobby" is one of the best hidden gems I have been to in Charlotte! Their martini is FANTASTIC. The only thing better is the bartenders - Kyle and Jimmy. Sweet, knowledgeable, hospitable.... I also enjoyed the music and the overall vibe. So many cute plants!!! 5+ stars for sure

Great experience staying at Refuge! The check-in process was seamless. The room was very clean and complete with original art pieces and a spacious shower with great water flow. The complimentary coffee bar in the common area came in clutch the morning after exploring the Plaza Midwood neighborhood the night before. Walkable to so many fun things to do! Would recommend Refuge to anyone visiting Charlotte.

Been wanting to try The Lobby at Refuge for awhile since its a Moth project. Love the staff and space. Everyone was super friendly and the drinks- whoa! I had their play on the a dirty martini. The blue cheese olives are some of the best Ive had in Charlotte. Cant wait to go back and try other drinks.

We stayed in the proper room for 4, which was comfortable enough for our family of 6. Two bathrooms and a beautiful hot, good pressured shower and plenty of outlets and shelf space for phones/drinks / etc. The Mexican restaurant next door has delicious food/drinks and great prices. So much parking in the back - and it came in handy because we were traveling with a second vehicle pulling a trailer, at the end of our week-long road trip. Additionally, the lobby has a table and ample seating to gather in, and the hotel is a short walking distance to coffee shops, delicious eateries, and the local transit line. I almost didn't want to review this place, for fear that this gem of a find won't be readily available next time we visit! It's a GREAT find and we definitely would stay here again. OH! Should also add that even though the hotel is not your typical hotel - unstaffed - Jay was so helpful and kind and was quick to respond to text/phone calls with my questions before and during our stay.
