It is a smaller venue with great seating. Very clean and the staff was so friendly. The family had a delightful time. A little snack bar. When your finished you can walk around and find several grill and wine bars with additional entertainment. You should try this. My experience was great.

I attended an event honoring the life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King on January 16, 2023 at the Joy Performance Center. The atmosphere was pleasant, the performance and Keynote Speaker Mr. Steve Crump from WBTV News was very informative. I commend the Honorable Mayor Scott Neisler, Kings Mountain Mauney Library and Joy Performance Center for a job well done!

The Joy is owned by the local community theatre group. It is an old movie theater rennovated to be used as a stage theatre. Quality performances grace the stage 4 times a year. The group has kept as much of the old fixtures and orginal materials as possible...very nostalgic and charming! The building and attached garden are also available for rental for private occasions, weddings, concerts, lectures, performances, etc.

Great performance this year as usual! There was a great cast of characters acting their little hearts out! I may just have to go back again and see their performance all over again! GREAT job!
