Chimney Rock State Park
Just a good time. We went after a pretty heavy rain and storm so the park was pretty well cleared out. All of the employees and park staff were great. Hike was fun and the waterfall was awesome. Two thumbs up!
Nice little quaint town with several unique shops restaurants, and boutiques to visit. There is free parking down the hill if you can find an open slot. Highly recommend nice people with unique items. Great family friendly atmosphere to spend a day trip browsing through the tows shops. There is a neat trail that is available for walking with or without your pets. Pets must remain on leashes while visiting.
It was a beautiful view and a great place to get some exercise. The day we went was miserably hot, and we had to wear masks because you couldn't socially distance on the stairs. I wouldn't recommend going while the mask ordinance is in effect. It would have been nice if they could have directed everyone to ascend via one direction and descend a different way, but that may not have been possible. I am really glad we went; the crowds just made me nervous with COVID.
Such an amazing workout for such magnificent vistas! So worth the fourteen dollar admission. Bring good walking shoes, plenty of water, even a folding chair if you're gonna walk the trails because the elevator may be out of order. Also bring souvenir money for the tourist trap at top. They also sell ice cream. Very enjoyable day with plenty of pictures ti be taken.
What an incredible experience! The park is immaculate and the staff is very friendly. We went on a day the elevator was out but the stairs was actually a nice experience. We had some incredible views even on an overcast day. My only advice is to just pace yourself and don't give up! The top is definitely worth the work of the hike even if you do the stairs.
