Lake Norman State Park
This is a beautiful state park with a lovely campground. We only stayed one night but our experience was awesome. The campground host was friendly and got us our wood very quickly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Each campsite has a designated flat area for your tent which makes everything a breeze. The local part center staff was also very friendly and helpful with information. I will definitely return here in the future if I have the chance.
Staff at visitors center SUCKS!! Park is very pretty though! Lots of activities. But fire the Staff! Find people who aren't rude and are more upbeat. It's a place of welcome so be more welcoming. Stop flirting and playing around. Do your job and don't ignore customers trying to buy items in the gift shop while you're too busy goofing off.
Went with my son and his family on Tuesday July 3rd didn't have to pay to swim we went back on Thursday and because lifeguards were on duty we had to pay 5 each for 3 adults and 4 each for 2 children. They accepted his credit card payment without ID. He goes back later to get ice cream for the kids and now a different rude woman is at the desk and wanted ID this time when he presented his card. I understand being careful with people and their credit cards but they didnt have no problem excepting it for park fees, so why not for ice cream for his kids. Lady at desk needs personality training
Nice state park. A lot of trails to walk, hike, or bike. I hiked a few. The trail along the lake was a perfect trail to fit in schedule early in day; not long at all but enough to say and feel that you had a hike.
Great park. I wish we had had more time to explore, but we were really just passing through on our way to Statesville. Looks like this park has a good number of trails. We went to the "beach"/swimming area. The facilities were very well maintained - they even had life jackets out on the beach for anyone who needed one to use. They also have canoe rentals. I would really love to come back on a day that we had enough time to really explore.
