Romare Bearden Park
This party is always kept up. They do a great job of maintaining the property. You will see photographers both professional and amateur taking pictures. Located right outside the Charlotte Knights ball field and a few blocks from the Panthers Stadium is almost in the heart of Uptown. They have clean restrooms, in the summer whimsical water fountains to run through along with rock and waterfalls to view. Plenty of room to just relax or to have a great walk. Tonight was New Year's Eve celebration and it was very well done.
A large (for Uptown standards, I would say) pleasant park in the heart of Charlotte, with views to match. The view is only getting larger with the construction of many mid-sized apartment buildings surrounding the area. Definitely better in the summer or spring time, when the garden area is in bloom and the grass is much greener, but visiting in the winter time still has it's charms, with the climax of the winter season being the Christmas market (dozens of small hand crafts and food vendors assembled within the park). It is definitely worth a visit, but be prepared for large crowds, rather than the usually open expanses, at the Market. The fountains are a nice touch and add a touch of aesthetics and beauty to an already beautiful town. Grass and walkways are generally clean.
This park was a great addition to uptown. It's really well put together with some really nice fountains. The big fountain has really pretty lights that make for a great skyline pictures at night. They also built in some cool musical elements for kids. We recently visited for the Charlotte Christmas Market which was very well done. The warm mulled wine is a nice touch and the German shops are really cute. I like that there are some different vendors that you don't find at the other markets. The sausage from 5Church is delicious as well! It's definitely a place you should stop and check out if you're in the area!
Beautiful park. Excellent Landscape Architecture. Ample seating and area to stand and sit and enjoy the great views of Charlotte. Lots of movement with fountains and plantings, and fun places for the kids to play and make sounds. I was pleasantly surprised by this space, and would highly recommend that you visit just to see.
I love this park. I work literally one street over from this park and it is such a multi purpose place that on any given day you will find something going on here. I walk this park on my lunch break a couple times a week while I listen to my music in my headphones and its like I'm in another world. This park is such a beautiful place to be at any given time of the day. Its a beautiful place to go and have fun with the family or have a romantic date with your s/o. I would recommend anybody to go to this park at least once if you never been, because if you go, I promise you will come back cause you will fall in love with this park.
