Bobbee O’s BBQ

My children and I are trying new restaurants and this one is close to my sons barbershop. I was excited to try a black owned barbecue spot, so we stopped in! My son and I had pulled pork platters. I had Mac and cheese and collards and he had Mac and cheese and fried okra. My daughter got buffalo dipped wings and fries. I also ordered the small hush puppies. Her meal came with tea, but the sweet cashier allowed my son and me to get a drink too because she knew the wait would be long. My order was placed at 7:22 and we didnt get our food until 8PM. Im not complaining about the wait because the food was fresh. My pulled pork was good, the fried okra and hush puppies were good. I did not like the Mac and cheese at all because it had a strong onion taste. The collards were not seasoned well at all. My daughters wings and fries were good though. The cornbread was a hard NO! It was super dry. Overall, I would go back and try something different. I read a review that said the sides werent the best, so Ill try to find something I like. Definitely worth a try though!
If you are in Charlotte, NC then this is a must. Bobbee O's was once featured in Parade Magazine as one of the top 3 best BBQ joints in the USA. It is owned and operated by the Man, the Myth, the Legend, the BBQ Maestro himself Bobbee O. This place is outstanding! I ordered the Brisket Combo meal. Every element of that meal was great! It is the best brisket I've ever eaten, coleslaw was finely chopped, sweet, and delicious. Also, the fries and hush puppies were great. They also had Cheerwine as a soft drink choice! When you go up to the counter you may have the privilege of being served by 'All Smiles' Allie. She will square you away on the menu and get you going. Bobbee O and 'All Smiles' Allie are pictured.
I usually don't judge a book by its cover but I should have listened to my instinct .. place was empty at 6:00 on a Saturday night .. Service was slow.. ask for cheese fries or nacho cheese on the side. They said you have to place an entire order instead of a $0.50 up charge. It was $2.. You're thinking your going to get a lot of fries for that price but a small little cup with cheap nacho cheese sauce.. My brisket sandwich was probably the worst brisket I've ever had tasted like it was pre-packaged and very soggy had no smoke ring. No bark.. The sauce was good. The pulled pork was not great.. but the chicken tendies hands down top five of all time I've ever had.. but for what I paid for what I got $36 I could have went elsewhere.. always try to find the good but this was just overall bad. I did enjoy the painting and scenery. They had three TVs. Only one was on or working. Won't be back

Food was excellent. The pulled chicken was moist and not overcooked with just enough sauce. Mac and cheese was good as well, but the best thing on the plate was the baked beans! Gorgeous atmosphere and clean space to spend an hour! I will definitely be back!
Was told when I was ordering that they close in 25 minutes so I needed to be finished by then. The brisket was rubbery and too much fat. The corn bread was too dry. The ribs were good but thats about it. For $30 I would expect better service and food.
