Five year old Caroline “CC” Casey was diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy when she was two years old. MLD is an inherited disorder that affects the protective covering around nerve cells, as well as the nerve fibers. A rare, serious and progressive disease, MLD currently has no cure and has robbed CC of a normal life as she is immobile and unable to speak. The life expectancy of children with MLD is six to eight years old. Two years ago, Tara, CC’s mom expressed concern that people would forget CC when she passes. The Sandbox created Cereal With CC in honor of Caroline and in hopes of pouring into the lives of so many other Sandbox families whose child has a rare, life-altering or terminal diagnosis. Cereal With CC is an upbeat, inspiring breakfast combined with an action packed workshop, Give Where You Live. The workshop fosters collaboration with all members in the room and forces teams to collaborate on defining their skills to improve the life of a family whose child has a diagnosis. The breakfast promises to be chock full of inspiration, excitement and enlightenment on how easy it is to Give Where You Live. Early Bird Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at GotSandbox.org/CerealWithCC!
