Charlotte Biology & Biotechnology: At the Intersection of Vertebrate DNA

As part of the Distinguished Speaker Series, Charlotte Biology and Biotechnology (CBB) Exchange Group presents "At the Intersection of Vertebrate DNA Replication and Repair" featuring Johannes Water, Ph.D. Walter is Professor of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, American Cancer Society Research Professor, and Investigator of Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), at Harvard Medical School.
The Walter laboratory seeks to understand how cells faithfully duplicate their DNA in the presence and absence of DNA damage. The CBB Exchange Group, sponsored by University of North Carolina Charlotte and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, brings faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, as well as technicians and scholars in biology and biotechnology together in the greater Charlotte region for information exchange, and to foster industry and academic partnership, economic development and professional networking opportunities. The Distinguished Speaker Series theme for academic year 2018-2019 is Genome Integrity and Cancer Etiology.
The presentation will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., followed by lunch and networking with the speaker and participants.
