Free community celebration with the return of high-altitude, city-wide fireworks and the official launch of Charlotte’s year-long 250th Anniversary observance.
Join us at Memorial Stadium as we welcome back the BIGGEST fireworks show in Charlotte! Doors open at Memorial Stadium at 6:00 p.m. The Charlotte Star Spangled Spectacular, presented by Regions, will feature great local food trucks, fun for the whole family, entertainment including live music from the stage from “The Voltage Brothers” and a patriotic celebration kicking off our city's 250th anniversary!
Seating is available on both the lawn and in half of the stadium, with a maximum capacity of 15,000 people. Grab your blankets (no lawn chairs) and claim a spot on the field grass for the spectacular fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. Please leave coolers and pre-packaged food at home as there will be plenty of food and beverages available on-site for purchase. Come early as seating is limited.
This great show will be synced to a music track that will be heard exclusively at 102.9 FM, The Lake, part of the iHeart Radio family of stations. Thanks to the high-altitude fireworks, the show can be viewed from a variety of locations around the city.
Parking is abundant, and easy to find around Memorial Stadium and Central Piedmont Community College as well as the Uptown area, but on-street parking will be restricted to keep traffic lanes open as fireworks viewers drive in and out of the city. On-street parking in nearby residential neighborhoods, including the First Ward and the Elizabeth neighborhood, is also prohibited. Towing will be strictly enforced in areas where parking is not allowed.
Participants can avoid traffic by riding a bike or using the LYNX Blue Line which now connects I-485 in the south through UNC Charlotte in the north. The streetcar connection at the CTC/Arena stop will take you within a block of Memorial Stadium. Charlotte B-cycle will also host a complimentary bike corral. More details to come.
