YWCA offers a fabulous space to just focus on yourself! As a member for more than four years, I enjoyed taking a variety of group exercise classes like HIIT, tabata, yoga, cycle and water aerobics classes! The fitness staff know how to support you in whatever goals you have and always provide modifications for exercises to you can opt in to a lower or higher intensity. I was always able to find a piece of equipment to workout on and the space was always clean. And Im looking forward to the dry saunas in the locker rooms opening back up soon.
Dilworth's best kept secret. Great workout facility ! Separate rooms for different workouts, equipment. Friendly, knowledgeable instructors. I feel so fortunate to have discovered this gem.
The YWCA lead asked to get some membership then gave us so hard time and the staff is rude and treat you rudely if you are brown (not black).
Our family has been members of the YWCA now for over five years and just want to get the word out that this place is fantastic. The Gym is top notch with great equipment, outstanding classes, and just an overall excellent facility. New locker rooms are also very nice. The fitness classes are really super and offered throughout the day at convenient times - after work, lunchtime workouts and even early bird sessions before work. Instructors are very motivating and help adjust the exercises to your level, beginner or expert. Lots of good friendly, camaraderie and you can get a great workout. Nice pool for swimming laps or taking exercise classes. This is just a great spot whether young or old, male or female. Even have childcare for our family. Highly suggest anyone check it out. Large facility with a variety of small workout spaces and friendly staff. I was only in town for a few days, needed somewhere to workout, and some of my family are members here. There's a decent amount of cardio equipment, including ellipticals, treadmills, and bikes, as well as multiple flexible fitness areas (good for yoga, cardio kickboxing, bodyweight workouts, etc). Can't forget the full-size pool and basketball court. Although there was no problem whatsoever with crowds, I had to get creative with my workout as the weight lifting equipment is scant and some of the machines are ones I've never seen anywhere else. Additionally, a few of the machines were not clearly labeled with the weight increments, so I was guessing at how much the plates weighed. I was still able to get in a complete workout with minimal slow-down for translating my usual exercises.
