Eagle Chase Golf Club

.A no frills Golf Course that is getting an upgrade.. Eagle Chase is a hidden Gem that is pretty far out of the " loop" of Charlotte. Although we were disappointed to learn hole 8 is currently closed for bunker upgrades, that didn't affect the amazing time we had , and ALWAYS HAVE, playing this course.. they have a driving range, a large practice putting green, and a small practice chipping area .. they sell everything you need in the clubhouse , and have a small snack and drink area. There's no beer cart, a single Porta John on each 9 holes, and none of the water coolers that are usually out on the course were in place, so make sure you bring your own drinks, or buy some in the clubhouse, before you head out, in case the coolers aren't out for you as well. The Carts are newer looking , ( we haven't been in a while ) and the bunkers are all getting an upgrade to pure , white sand, as opposed to the red clay they've always had. I Took my oldest son for his Birthday , and my youngest grandson rode along with us. We are hacks that just enjoy playing when we can. This course is not only BEAUTIFUL, and one of my all-time favorite courses to play, it also has extremely playable holes for us " hacks " , and extremely challenging holes for you scratch golfers out there. Be prepared to be blown away by the sheer beauty of this course . A Large creek runs along several of the holes , and you can hear the water flowing as if you're in a world all to yourself.we played the Monday after the Superbowl and pretty much had the course to ourselves . I was torn about writing this review , as we ( me and my 3 sons and 2 grandsons ) have always enjoyed playing a less than normal , crowded course .. So whether you're a hack like us, or a scratch golfer looking for a " mountainous " type course to play without driving all the way out to the mountains, I guarantee you too WILL LOVE playing this course !!.

I played Eagle Chase and it was great, the course is in great condition. This is one more great courses I've played. The fairways are wide and open. The course has shots over water to a beautiful fairways. Wonderful place to play.

Played Eagle Chase for the first time yesterday. I had heard about the elevation changes, but I wasn't expecting as much as I saw. If you're a straight hitter, you'll have no problems here. If not, plan on losing balls. The Bermuda rough can be brutal, and if you get in the thick stuff, good like even finding your ball. The layout is spectacular. Can be difficult but fair. The greens were a little slow for me, but they were smooth and true. The undulations in the greens were problematic for me, but it will take quite a few rounds to figure them out. The staff was very friendly a professional. I had read some complaints about the marshals, but didn't even see one all day. On the drive out to the course, it's quite a nice drive through the NC country side. My wife jokingly said "wow, this is in the middle of nowhere". I said, "I know, and I think the zip code is EIEIO". Looking forward to coming back soon!

Poured down rain all night and into the first 4 holes we played of and on. We was really happy 90degree rule was being used plus we were shocked having.never played here before we was sure it was gonna be cart path only, but that course was so well drained and maintained I'd never have believed it if I dint see it. The character of the design, the true rolls of the greens the challenging.holes and the scenery was just perfect. Would play this course every chance I got if I lived here . And the price was unbelievable $50 felt like we just found a hidden gem . Well worth the trip and only our first 18 . I highly recommend this course to anyone that plays

Very happy we found this course. Very nice conditioning, interesting layout with elevation changes and doglegs, greens are fast & true but hard to hold (not really a complaint just a warning... Lol). A great rate and great value for the money. Will play again when I come through Charlotte again.
