Eagle Chase Golf Club
What a fantastic course! I came up from Charleston for a weekend to play a few courses here in the Charlotte area and was blown away by this course. It had stormed the night before and even with the little debris the boxes were cleaned and the greens are awesome. Top notch and very exciting. Green run a little slower then expected but in perfect shape. Will definitely go again! Oh and you will be shocked by the great price.
First time playing Eagle Chase. Decided to give it a try based on positive reviews. I will start with the many positives: - The land that the course sits on is beautiful and the layout is challenging. - The course has a fair amount of elevation change which allows for holes that require a variety of shots. - The staff was very friendly. - The range was a decent size (many or most of the range balls are beyond their useful life). As for the negatives: - The car paths were in rather rough shape with no real path in several areas. - The turf condition (greens, fairways and tee boxes) was fair. Maybe this was a result of the time of year, but I've played other public courses in the area recently where the turf was in much better shape. I will return in the summer or fall it see if the time of year makes a difference. I am hoping the delay will allow the staff to complete the bunker renovations that are currently in process. My sense is that the course needs a larger maintenance budget to make any meaningful improvements in playing conditions and the other amenities. For now, Eagle Chase is a good option for those seeking "value" for their next round of golf.
Eagle Chase had a lot to offer. Id prefer to play this off-the-beaten-path gem a few times before rating as our newbies were fooled a few times by unseen slopes and run-off areas. Greens and bunkers were excellent. Tee boxes and fairways, above average. Tremendous, and unexpected, elevation changes made this roller coaster of a course fun. Better signage would be a plus.
In town from Delaware and played to kill some time before the wedding we were attending in Monroe later in the day. Saw this course on line and went for it... so glad did! The course was truly a gem... friendly folk's, well stocked shop (small but quality gear), awesome views, challenging holes, lots of wildlife and great greens. Ended up we got paired with the boss of the groom whose wedding we were attending... such a small world! Made for a spectacular day!
This is the best public Golf Course in the Charlotte area by far. Great Fairways and Greens. The rates are fair as well unlike the rest of the courses around Charlotte. I will definitely be back.
