Titanic: The Exhibition
This blog is brought to you in partnership with Titanic: The Exhibition.
The largest, most immersive Titanic exhibition docks in Charlotte’s Park Expo & Conference Center. From Friday, May 15 through Monday, Sept. 7, dive into the history and legacy of this iconic ocean liner during “Titanic: The Exhibition.”
This interactive experience traces the design, construction, launch, maiden voyage and devastating conclusion of RMS Titanic, the largest, most luxurious ship of its time. More than 300 artifacts reveal the stories of the passengers and crew aboard the ship.
Embark on your voyage after receiving a boarding card that traces the journey of a real passenger aboard the ship in 1912. Step into recreated first- and third-class cabins, as music from the era plays throughout the exhibit, to immerse yourself in life on board. “Titanic: The Exhibition” features exquisitely detailed, life-size recreations of the ship’s interior, including the famous Grand Staircase, millionaires’ suite and exterior promenade deck accented by a starry night sky.
Browse the Discovery Gallery, centered around the exploration and research of the Titanic wreck site. The gallery features a raised glass floor that simulates the sea-floor debris field where the vessel ultimately sank. Your journey ends at the memorial wall, where guests reflect on the tragic sinking of the Titanic. There, you’ll learn the fate of your assigned passenger.
In addition to artifacts from the Titanic and other White Star Line vessels from that time, as well as an engaging film that explores in depth forensic research related to the collision, this exhibit also offers a virtual reality experience as an optional add-on.
Get a glimpse of the ship’s final resting place, 12,500 feet beneath the surface of the Atlantic on the ocean floor. Equipped with VR goggles, you can explore the ship in its current submerged condition.
Don’t miss your chance to embark on a journey into the history of the most captivating shipwreck of all time during “Titanic: The Exhibition.”
