What do you get when you cross a stand-up comedy act with a BYOB bar on four wheels? A side-splitting, provocative ride through Charlotte like no other on The Funny Bus. If you’re looking to take in a saucier side of the Queen City, hop on board this 90-minute tour covering 15 miles around the Uptown area including Historic South End, Plaza Midwood, Fourth Ward and NoDa, with pit stops in between to refill your glass.
One of the defining elements of a Funny Bus tour is the comedian/tour guide’s unapologetic and uncensored depiction of Charlotte’s well-known points of interest. Each guide brings their own brand of comedy to the bus… along with their own version of Charlotte’s history. Facts are masterfully mixed in with falsities, jokes and insults.
A word of warning: The Funny Bus rates their tours “R” for good reason – this tour is not for the faint of heart and requires tour-goers to bring their sense of humor (along with their beer and wine). For those looking for a more PC, historically-accurate adventure, check out the “PG-13” Funny Bus Tours available on Saturdays and Sundays in the early afternoon.
The bus departs from 7th Street Public Market in Uptown Thursdays through Sundays, or you can book the whole bus for any day of the week for your private group tour.
