Valhalla Pub & Eatery
We visited Valhalla after Heroes Con on a Sunday night. It was easy for us to find even though we are overly familiar with the area and it wasn't a bad walk from the convention center. We were able to find a place to sit easily, which was nice. It's not a huge place, but definitely big enough for a neighborhood pub. The staff was friendly and checked in on us often. I got the Cuban and green beans and was nearly able to finish it all. There was so much meat on the sandwich that I had to give up (and I hadn't eaten lunch that day)! The ambiance is definitely that of a friendly neighborhood pub. There were plenty of groups of friends hanging out after watching some of the World Cup. It wasn't overly loud or rowdy, we were able to carry on a conversation without having to raise our voices, which is always nice after a long day working at the convention.
Good food and good portions I got the Freya fish n chips and my husband got the pot roast. Service was good. Has an old world atmosphere but with a name like Valhalla I expected it to have more Norse mythology decor.
Came here on the night of July the 3rd. I had no idea this part of Charlotte even existed. This such a cool outdoor downtown area of Charlotte and I definitely plan on coming back. Docking a star because of my $6 beer
One of the best places to have lunch in downtown. Sandwiches and entrees are very good. Always love to go here with my team. Most of the time it's crowded. Good service as well..
Valhalla has a great vibe. There aren't a TON of tvs but I like watching games there. The beer lists always packed with local options and then my real recommendation is the sangria. They juice all the fruit themselves so it's super fresh. The tacos are massive so be hungry if you order them. They don't have dessert so our waitress recommended dessert shots haha... We took them.
