Green Room Cafe

I found this place extremely hard to find, in fact I left. The signage is too small, no lit "open" sign in front. First time visitor. If you go, the strip mall "Narrow Way Consignments" is V shaped. The cafe sets dead in the middle. The signs aren't that visible from the parking lot behind a bunch of patio umbrellas. I thought the place was out of business until I saw the sign by the road listing the shops and it was the first one. I only found it listed on Google maps and wanted to support a small business rather than a chain of else I wouldn't have known it existed. I thought the place was out of business and decided to go down Hwy 51 to find someplace else to eat when I noticed all the green outdoor carpet so I turned in to investigate which seems to be the back entrance. Across the parking lot is the Narrow Way building. I saw an outdoor Connect 4 game and large garden chess set. Then I saw a flashing open sign. The indoor lights didn't look to be on, doors must be tinted. So I had to try the door to be sure they were open When I walked in I walked into a large pool table so I think this can't be the place but it was. It's not your traditional restaurant but apparently a "green room" for the Narrow Way cast. Limited menu, only salads, sandwiches and crepes. No burgers or fries. The menu is elevated as you won't find these dishes everywhere which gives this place a unique spin. I started with a Gouda pimento cheese and bacon sandwiches with Watergate salad. And a large brownie for dessert. The sandwich was gouda too Bread was toasted but not grilled like a traditional grilled cheese. I was still hungry so I decided to also try a crepe. The crepe was freaking huge. They have a savory selection and a sweet selection. I went with a savory Greek crepe. It was giant and stuffed. I actually took half of it to work for lunch the next day. The chef was very nice and explained the menu. Everything is served in "green compostable" material which I was especially pleased with not a bunch of plastic filling the landfills. I was down on business and got stuck in 5 o'clock traffic so I looked for a place to eat and let traffic die down. I'm glad I did. I'll definitely be back again when I'm in the area. Only open 830 am to 630pm all day except Sunday

This is a new Cafe right across from NarroWay Productions. A great variety of crepes, paninis, sandwiches, delicious desserts, coffees, specialty drinks. The hot Apple Pie crepe with vanilla ice cream is to die for. My friend is crazy over the banana split crepe. The cranberry chicken salad and avocado chicken salad are really good lighter options. They open at 8:30. Open every day but Sunday. NarroWay offers children's and teens theatre classes so it's a great place to have a coffee, or breakfast with a friend. There is internet and a fabulous patio area. Leashed pets are allowed on the patio.

My son in Atlanta had a surprise lunch delivered to me on Friday in Ballantyne in Charlotte, NC. The salad and sandwich were delicious as the eye of Hurricane Ian blew beneath my wings. However, the delivery person did not ring the bell, nor was there any indication that it came from Green Room Cafe in Ft. Mill. It was left on the floor while I sat on the other side of the door. Loved the foodthank you Chef!!!
