Top notch date night. Kounter is simply a dive in downtown Rock Hill. The food was a step above. Compliments to the chef. You have created beautiful masterpieces. We cant say enough wonderful things about the food & presentation! Jamie, our server, was attentive, professional, & made sure to answer all our questions to point us in the right direction for a delicious meal. We will definitely go back. smokes tuna poke chili & garlic shrimp lobster gnocchi seared steak peanut butter pie

Not just supper this was an experience! Kounter just launched a Sunday Supper Club concept ! Kounter located in the heart of Rock hill,SC is launching a Sunday supper club with Chef Rob. The drinks were phenomenal and each course over exceeded my expectations. Included in this supper club experience is for each guest to choose a cocktail, & a 4 course meal , along with a surprise additional course , and a bottle of wine as well . Talk about a bang for your buck and an experience this is it . What I loved most is how interactive it was,Chef Rob came out several times to ask how was everything and if you had any favorites. My favorite hands down was the watermelon lasagna, talk about wowing your palate this course nailed it. Far as the desserts it was hard to choose a favorite everything was absolutely amazing. Be sure before leaving to check out The Jail no bail : How 30 days impacted the civil rights movement exhibit can be found when exiting Kounter .

We didnt plan this visit. Instead of having dinner in Charlotte, we decided to cross into South Carolina, and found ourselves in downtown Rock Hill. At a local bakery, we began to ask questions about restaurants in the area & after looking at the menu, we decided we needed to try this place. There is a historical aspect to the counter at Kounter & its my understanding that during segregation, young African American students sat at the counter and staged a sit-in and refused to leave after being denied service. The sit-in movement actually began at a Woolworth in Greensboro, NC but the movement soon spread to college towns throughout the South. Connected to the building right outside is the Jail, No Bail exhibit. You can learn more about it. As sad as it makes us, it is the way it was. Someone was quite genius in planning this restaurant, to incorporate the history into a dining experience is incredibly innovative! I dont think Ive ever encountered anything like this. To actually learn about history that took place at a building long ago and experience amazing cuisine is extraordinary. Now, about the Food! Our server Emily was very sweet & helpful with the menu. My husband and I lovedthe Lobster Gnocchi, the Crab dip & the Caesar salad. Seriously, as a top Google Guide I have been a guest at many restaurants, everything we ordered exceeded our expectations, it was all delish!

Without a doubt, one of the best dinning experiences. The menu is vibrant and creative. Every dish tasted better than the previous and the other way around (if that makes sense). Every ingredient was fresh and their team very friendly and attentive.

Just finished a date night and we had such a great experience! Reservation was easy, very intimate, table was ready with menus/silverware, and Blake (our waiter) was very attentive with a wonderful personality, and good food recommendations (try the shareable ribs and thank me later) FOOD WAS AMAZING! 10/10. Literally no complaints at all. Thanks again for being awesome Blake! Definitely coming again
