Phenomenal food. Every dish that came out- my husband and I felt like we were in a TV show because of how intricate and fun each item was. The cocktails were amazing and we loved how unique this little restaurant is. We will definitely be going back!
WONDERFUL! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the staff were friendly and attentive. Absolutely loved the key lime pie creation that Chef Rob prepared for me as I watched! Will definitely do again when in the area! We were back in the area on Oct 12 and at here again, as I said we would! Had another amazing meal, my husband is stuck on the bacon wrapped meat loaf! I like to try different things so this time I had the shrimp & grits, it was awesome. We had the Mom's Chocolate Pie for dessert and, while it was very good, I preferred the key lime pie from our previous visit!
My wife and I went here for a date night Friday and everything lived up to what we had heard. I don't give out 5 stars often but as of this one visit there was nothing I would change. To start we were quickly greeted and as soon as we were sat our server came by. We both ordered a drink from the bar and we're surprised to see our server make the drinks. They both came out perfect. The baked feta we had for a starter was the perfect size to get us going and the flavors were on point. For our main course I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf and absolutely loved every bite. The cilantro crema was a perfect compliment to the meatloaf. My wife had the lobster gnocchi and she really enjoyed it. For dessert we went with the whipped key lime and hands down was one of the best key lime desserts I have ever had. Overall we had a great experience and there is no doubt in my mind we will return soon.
Went for the 1st time last night and loved the food. Shrimp is so delicious, ribs were great as well, only complaint, they weren't heated enough. Ordered the pear martini which was good. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband has the chicken sliders. Both were really good. We definitely will be back
My wife and I, along with our best friends, celebrated my wife's birthday, last night, at Kounter. It was definitely a mixed experience. While the service was very good and quite accommodating, the food was rather hit or miss. I had the meatloaf; it was delicious. My wife had the shrimp and grits, delicious. One of our friends, the fish and tots, mediocre. But our other friend had the steak and potato, and he said it was disgusting. I tried it as well, and agreed that it was not great. I'm sure some people like it, but not us. The value was also hard to stomach. I understand the fancier food the more expensive it is going to be. However, I didn't think fancy meant small portions. I walked away hungry, even after the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and Asian Brussels. The ambience of the establishment wasn't awful, but it wasn't as fancy as we expected it to be, given the price of food, recommendation for reservation, and area of town. All in all, not a horrible experience, but not one that will prod us to return.
