If you're looking for some good soul food in the Uptown area, then this is it! The food was absolutely deliciously. And the cornbread was warm and sweet. You can't go wrong with whatever you order. It has an old dinner vibe, so come as you are. I gave it four stars because they were under staffed when we went recently. The one server working was doing her best, but you can only do so much, when you're the only one running tables.
A local friend recommended this spot. Well it lived up to all we were told! The food was so good! The best thing Id say we had was the chicken wings and the corn bread but everything was so good. I also took a piece of red velvet cake to go and boy was it delicious!
The food was fresh, hot and well seasoned. No out of the can food here. EVERYTHING that we ordered was homemade. The fish and the chicken wings were fried to perfection. The collards were smokin' tonight. The cornbread is ssssoooo GOOD, the seasoned rice and the okra and tomatoes was excellent. Their reputation for good food is second to none it did not disappoint.
Ive been here twice already and I like it a lot!! Southern comfort food for real! Love the cornbread, mac and cheese and their fried chicken is just so good! I always get it and its just one of the best fried chicken Ive had. Highly recommend this place and service is always nice, quick and efficient!
Pork chops were the most tender I have ever eaten. The collard greens were great but had a few too many stems for my liking (just my personal preference) the black eye peas were great too. Try the soul rolls. Those were great. Cornbread was a great compliment to the entire meal. I highly recommend you visit this restaurant
