My wife and I love diners. Moving to Charlotte we wanted to try the Midnight Diner uptown. We split some cheeseburger sliders before we went to the Mint museum and they were great. They were diner style, freshly made burgers with fresh French fries and our server Dave was awesome. He let us relax, didnt hover and was charismatic and cool. Thanks Dave! The only caveat was the bathroom which I didnt enter until the end was really dirty. I am glad I didnt enter it until after I ate because I dont think I wouldve eaten there with the bathroom that unclean. However, I believe because its the end of year that maybe its been busy and hopefully that will be fixed. So, want a diner feel without it being Waffle House? Go to midnight diner. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. Just make sure you check the restroom to make sure its clean for piece of mind.
This was my first visit to Midnight Diner. There was a brief 10-15 minute wait for a table, but there were open benches available out front. Once we were seated at our table, we were greeted by our amazing server. I wish I could remember her name as well as I do her smile! She was very helpful with all of the many questions I had for her. Mr. decided on steak & eggs. I chose their chicken tenders plate. I must say, they were top 3 all time best tenders Ive ever eaten. They were perfectly seasoned & fried to perfection! I would definitely recommend this restaurant & Ill definitely go back Ill eat the pie first!
Food is okay..i just get the breakfast but the prices are a little high
The food at Midnight is amazing! There is always a wait for seating so be prepared for that but we think it's worth the wait. The staff is nice and efficient. The ambiance is fun and lively. We had shrimp and grits and biscuits and coconut French toast it was the best!
So happy I found this place a few years back. I love the veggie burgers and the grilled cheese too. The only thing I would not recommend is the steak. I don't eat meat but I took my brother here and he said it was on the dry and tasteless side. But everything else is great including the pecan waffles.
