Read more info about each of these acclaimed artists below.
The Donna Hopkins Band – 6 PM Donna Hopkins is the real deal. Born and raised on a North Alabama farm, Donna witnessed life in the South first hand, channeling it into the soulful music that she creates and performs. Music runs in her family; her mother performed rock and roll in go-go boots and mini-skirts and her grandfather was a fine bluegrass musician in his own right. Following in their footsteps, Donna is a consummate seasoned performer with many songs and performances under her belt. Georgia Music Magazine calls Donna Hopkins a “genuine triple threat” due to her prowess as a singer, songwriter and guitarist.
Deva Mahal – 7:45 PM Born with blues in her blood, Deva Mahal is a genre-defying artist, powerhouse vocalist, and astute songwriter. Allowing her blues roots to blossom from the fertile soil of modern R&B, indie-pop, soul, rock, and gospel, her undeniable vocal talent never ceases to blow audiences away. Her star continues to rise with “Run Deep,” her aptly-named debut album, produced by Scott Jacoby. The New York Times calls her music “hand-clapping, piano-pounding, call-and-response buildup.” Her energy and enthusiasm breathe wild life into her songs with a knockout voice that combines pulse pounding soul with a decidedly modern edge. Grammy.com named her “#1 Best New Bands at SXSW 2018.”
Maria Muldaur – 9:30 PM Maria Muldaur is an American blues singer who was part of the early 1960s music revolution. She recorded the 1973 hit song “Midnight at the Oasis,” which garnered several Grammy nominations and enshrined her forever in the hearts of Baby Boomers everywhere. In the 40 years since, “Midnight at the Oasis,” Maria has toured extensively worldwide and has recorded 40 solo albums covering all kinds of American Roots Music, including Gospel, R & B, Jazz, and Big Band – not to mention several award-winning children’s albums. Her latest release, “DON'T YOU FEEL MY LEG - The Naughty Bawdy Blues of Blue Barker,” was nominated for the Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album. Maria will perform songs from that Grammy-nominated album and more!
