Our mission is to promote the critical and emerging needs of women in Mecklenburg County through education and service.
One of the topics we will discuss during this forum is sexual harassment in the work place. According to Edison Research: "Twenty-one percent of Americans say they have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace: 27% of women and 14% of men say they have experienced sexual harassment at work. Among the 24% of Americans working in the gig economy, 30% of them say they have experienced sexual harassment at work.
These are some of the many findings from the recently released Sexual Harassment in the Workplace: #metoo, Women, Men, and the Gig Economy report from the Marketplace-Edison Research Poll." It is our intent and goal not only to raise awareness of the various issues facing women in the work place with the promotion of this event but to also provide useful information and tools to empower them.
