The Chamber s actively endorsing projects like the Toll Lanes on I-77 that are detrimental to our businesses. We are already suffering because of traffic, ensuring no assistance for another 50 years s not exactly smart. How many major highways in Charlotte are expected for go 100 years without widening?

I truly believe that my experience in any membership group is a direct reflection of what I put into it. . . and the Charlotte Chamber has exceeded my expectations so far. I've attended a variety of their networking functions (both lunchtime and after hours things) and recently took part in one of their "lobbying" trips (the annual bus trip to RALEIGH.) I've never been fond of politics or politicians / but this trip really opened my eyes to how to get involved in local and state government! and lobby on the issues that matter to me and my business. I can't agree with the other reviewer that the chamber has a "Republican" slant . . . it's more accurate to say that they have a "pro business" position and they appeal to our representatives on both sides of the aisle to vote on legislation that is beneficial to our interests and our city.

Your support of the construction of toll lanes on I-77, not to mention to be built and managed by a company in Spain, shows just how out of touch the Charlotte Chamber is with "small business" and local residents. Obviously "BIG" business is the only business you're concerned about, which ironically is about as small a percentage in the large scope of the area as the people who ultimately can and will afford the price of a one way trip on the new toll lanes. Toll lanes = Extorsion, entities that align with Toll Lanes = Extortionists

The Chamber has had public input on the local toll roads and yet even with a 90% disapproval for their decisions to support it, they continue. If these tolls proceed, the design is to create congestion which will cause the main artery from Cleveland, Ohio to SC to be a road to be avoided. Social media already proves that people reroute away from the congestion. How does this help our local businesses? These facts have been presented to the chamber yet they continue on with this 50 year plan. Businesses are already beginning their strategic moves to relocate.... yet the Charlotte Chamber continues on with their support of this horrific plan of toll roads.

Defying the will of the people by moving forward with Toll Lanes on I-77 North of Charlotte and around Charlotte in collusion with the NCDOT (90+% are against toll lanes that will only make traffic worse). NC has one of the highest gas taxes in the US, and yet the Mocksville bypass, a town with around 5,000 is being built. There is no need for toll lanes. The idea of following the ALEC suggestion to do a public, private partnership to widen I-77 with Spanish Cintra and their extremely corrupt parent company, Ferrovial, will send Billions of Dollars out of the local economy, out of the state and out of the Country into hands of Spanish Corruption. The idea to sign a contract with such a corrupt organization by NC elected officials calls into judgement all those in office and working at the NCDOT. #AudittheNCDOT #NCDOT #notollsincharlotte #wideni77withgeneralpurposelanes #mccroryhasquestionablejudgement
