Love the J , was a member 7 years ago and was visiting the area from AZ , considering moving back.....but the facility reeks of chlorine from the indoor pool and there is a mold problem throughout the main building. Sorry.....I can not rejoin if moving back until these two issues are corrected. Suggest an environmental engineer locating the source of mold. Start with the HVAC systems....maybe install air scrubbers and sanitize the ventilation network. (from a previous commercial property manager)

The LJCC is a vibrant and healthy community and a great place to explore. The Staff and Leadership are outstanding and are willing to communicate to help in any way.

I am surprised by the reviews. Either they are not real or the expectations in NC are not very high. The facility is very dated and not well maintained. The outside of the building (the photo) is pretty but thats it. Felt like I stepped back to 1970 as if this is what it looked like when they first opened and no new renovations have happened since. In some places, walls are peeling. The gym is tiny and the equipment is very old. They barely have free weights. Its a small rack with one set of each weight. They have one lap pool with 5 lanes, mainly for kids and you have to call to reserve a lane. They have an outside pool which adds another 3 lanes. They have four courts for tennis. I am just surprised. Up north, the JCC is well maintained, brand new and offers much larger spaces for each activity. It was disappointing to me bc I really wanted to join a Jewish community. Limiting hours but that is expected due to the sabbath, which removes Friday night and Saturday morning as workout times (2 out of 5 days). Looks like I will have to go to one of the YMCAs or back to Planet fitness which is all brand new on Pineville-Mathews or Orange Theory. Heard Dowd YMCA is too crowded, so thats out.

Fantastic center especially the pottery studio where I'm taking classes.
