The flowers and trees aren’t the only things that become renewed in the spring. The live music touring season awakes from its winter slumber, with fresh new graces like Braxton Cook joining seasoned veterans such as Herbie Hancock and Sting to fill up your concert calendar.
Braxton Cook
When: Sunday, March 15
Where: Middle C Jazz
One of the rising stars in the neo jazz movement is Braxton Cook, who makes a stop at Uptown’s Middle C Jazz club. Fans of NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series might remember the Grammy-winning saxophonist, vocalist, songwriter, producer and composer’s performance in 2025, which showcased his unique blend of jazz, R&B and soul.
The R&B Lovers Tour: Dru Hill, Keith Sweat, JOE, Ginuwine, Kut Klose

There was a period of time in the mid to late ‘90s where R&B reached a stylistic and sonic zenith marked by slow jams, unforgettable melodies and plenty of over the top, shirtless singing-in-the-rain music videos. Old Crow Medicine Show: OCMS and Big Iron World Tour – Back to the Roots

Where: Neighborhood Theatre
Forever linked to North Carolina, alt folk band Old Crow Medicine Show is making a stop in Charlotte on their world tour. Discovered in the late ‘90s by revered bluegrass legend Doc Watson while busking on the streets of Boone, Old Crow Medicine Show has brought folk and bluegrass to the mainstream with their (and Bob Dylan’s) ubiquitous song “Wagon Wheel.”
Juvenile’s Boiling Point Album Release Tour with The 400 Degreez Band

Where: The Fillmore Charlotte
Rapper Juvenile’s career resurgence continues. Fueled by a viral NPR Tiny Desk performance and other pop recognition, Juvenile is releasing his first album of new material in 11 years and touring with a live band to support it. Juvie plans on playing hits from his classic Cash Money catalog as well as from his new project.
Moonchild: Waves Tour
When: Tuesday, April 7
Where: Knight Theater
Moonchild has made their claim as one of music’s most satisfying blends of R&B, soul, jazz and psychedelic electronica. Combining those influences on a bedrock of late ‘90s-era neo soul and Moonchild’s sound becomes both strikingly familiar but also brand new. Led by lead singer Amber Navran’s gently harmonic vocals, this is a show you won’t want to miss.

Featuring a gauntlet of jazz-funk and soul veterans, headlined by Snarky Puppy, Cory Wong and Victor Wooten, this show is a high energy, bouncy and virtuosic performance. Make sure you catch Charlotte’s own Cosmic Collective, whose free flowing jam sessions are a perfect fit on this bill.
Cardi B: Little Miss Drama Tour

Superstar rapper Cardi B is fresh off her cameo on the Super Bowl halftime show stage and stepping right onto the tour bus. Cardi B has evolved into one of music’s brightest stars, influencing a new generation of female rappers with her raw authenticity and energy. Expect Cardi to shine under the bright lights of Uptown’s Spectrum Center.
St. Paul and The Broken Bones

Experiencing the soul-stirring bellow of lead singer Paul Janeway, backed by the brass-heavy sound of his seven piece band, for the first time is an unforgettable experience. Bruno Mars: The Romantic Tour

One of pop music’s biggest stars is finally getting the stadium tour he so richly deserves. Bruno Mars is touring the biggest venues in cities across the country promoting his new album, “The Romantic,” and he’ll be making a stop at Bank of America Stadium. The weather should be just right when the “Grenade” singer packs the house in Uptown.
Herbie Hancock

Blumenthal Arts continues to bring the highest quality shows. This time, it’s the iconic jazz-fusion legend Herbie Hancock coming to Belk Theater. There’s not much new you can say about Hancock and his contributions to jazz, funk, electronic and hip hop music. Even at 85 years old, the 14-time Grammy-winning musician continues to elate audiences wherever he goes.
Dave Matthews Band

For more than 35 years, the Dave Matthews Band has been a staple of the spring and summer touring circuit. John Legend: An Evening of Songs and Stories

The classically soulful and pop operatic voice of John Legend comes to town for a special performance at Ovens Auditorium. Eschewing a backing band, Legend is opting to bring only his piano and a microphone on this tour, playing some of his favorite songs and talking about what they mean to him.

The Queens: Four Legends, One Stage

Charlotte is no stranger to the sauciest voices in R&B, which makes the Queen City a perfect stop on The Queens tour, featuring Pattie LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Chaka Kahn and Stephanie Mills. Expect all your favorite hits from these leading ladies, such as “Lady Marmalade,” “Ain’t Nobody” and “Midnight Train to Georgia.”
