Smokey Joe's has been around for a long time and has become something of a historical fixture in Charlotte. The owner (Scott) is awesome, the open mic nights are fun, and the decor is pure eye candy. This bar appears in the movie 'Talladega Nights' but didn't let it go to its head! Very laid back feel!

I went for the Open Mic last night and really enjoyed my visit. The people were cool and the atmosphere was great. A lot of great music happening on that stage. I will definitely be back!

This is a great neighborhood bar. It has a serviceable jukebox, a good pool table and an outdoor ping-pong table on a sand lot. The beer, wine and liquor prices are very reasonable. Don't expect an extensive menu of craft beers and cocktails. It's just not that kind of place. Do expect friendly severs and down home working folks. They host regional bands from time to time, but the cover charge is minimal and the sound is good.

Best dive bar in Charlotte! Gem of a music venue , local and national music. Extremely eclectic bar with every inch of wall real estate covered with local and national music memorabilia. Over 100 beers and all the liquor, especially tequila! Two pool tables, Foosball, ring toss, ping pong Table on sand, great for bare feets. Darts inside and outside. Big covered deck with great nooks and crannies. Specialty jerky behind the bar and other snacks. Gourmet hot dogs outside at the hot dog stand, locally inspired. Great atmosphere for an after work drink or for a weekend of music! Tuesday night is open mike night...you never know who you may catch sitting in with the local artists.
