Founded in 2009, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery ignited the ultra-premium beer scene in Charlotte and has been at the forefront of the local market ever since. OMB adheres to the oldest purity guidelines in the world, the German “Reinheitsgebot.” This law states there can be only four ingredients in beer: water, barley or wheat malt, hops, and yeast. It’s “beer flavored beer” and it’s always fresh as OMB only distributes within a 60-mile radius. OMB is one of only nine craft breweries included on the Inc. 5000 list, and the only in North Carolina.
Wonderful place to try brews and have delicious bites with friends! We had excellent service and the food was tasty. Outdoor area was well-lit and had plenty of tables and space for larger groups. Kid friendly with a climbing area and several dogs were there as well.
This brewery is so great! The people are so nice and very knowledgeable about their beers. It is family friendly but also puppy friendly no joke cuteness overload! Beers are great, try it!
Great atmosphere, great food and Live Music.
The food was very good, though not quite what we were hoping for. The German food was limited to schnitzel and wurst, so don't come looking for any other German entrees. The sides and wurst were good. The Fat Boy porter was excellent. The service was ok. We had to have someone call our server for the check as we hadn't seen her in a little while. The prices were reasonable. Overall this seems like a great place if you're looking for a biergarten, but not if you're looking for true German cuisine.
This is for the food only. Ordered the Bavarian pretzel and the $14 "best chicken sandwich you'll ever have". Both items must have been sitting because they were both not fresh and cold. The chicken in the sandwich was way overcooked, dry and leathery. The bun was soggy with the avocado. There wasn't anything redeeming about either. The grounds and atmosphere are great as always.
