My boyfriend and I really like this place. We order a fried pork chop, fish and chicken platter, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, candied yams and sweet potato pie. The food was seasoned very well but not too much seasoning. Will definitely visit again.
The best fried chicken in Charlotte, if not the world. Place is wonderful. All of the staffs are really friendly. The place have long lines and sometimes the wait times is so long (especially on Sunday after church) but the taste is worth it. The chicken is absolutely delicious. It is really good! The taste is perfect, the crispiness is perfect, all of the spices really seep into the chicken meat. If you like fried chicken, dont go to fast food, go here.
It has a variety of hot food which is always good, with decent prices but be aware and check you order on the premises before leaving to make sure that you order is correct and complete
The fried chicken is 5 stars it was scrumptious. I ordered the meatloaf and it taste like it was frozen then reheated. Didnt care for it. Was a little disappointed with the rice (very small portion ). Rice is cheap so didnt understand the small portion. Employees could smile a little.. Great place overall. To let everyone know the chicken is better than KFC period.
Carry-out only due to the pandemic. I ordered turkey wings, cabbage and yams. The wings were dry, yams highly seasoned and cabbage barely seasoned. My husband said he didnt think it was worth the ride either. This is the 3rd time weve been here and its gotten progressively worse. The first two times my order was incorrect but the meals tasted much better. Ordered online and didnt see some of the other entrees wed seen previously but chalked it up to the pandemic. They may have been available but we didnt call to check. There are a few soul food options closer to home so not sure well return.
