New Zealand Cafe
This place is so tasty! Didn't even think that Charlotte have places like this! Even if you are full already you want more and more. New Zealand Cafe is the only one place in Matthews area where you can get A LOT of eel in your rolls. If you are in love with eel like I do you will be more than happy! Because in other places you can only smell that roll has eel somewhere(sometimes no smell lol) and never see it with your eyes. But in NZ you will see big pieces. I'm very happy that I ordered from here. Highly recommend this place!
The food was great BUT the place is sooooo small and the tables are literally touching each other. We went here once on a date night based on the awesome reviews and were pretty disappointed in the seating arrangements. We literally were at a table with another couple and we kept bumping elbows with them. Thankfully they were interesting to talk to but it definitely wasnt the experience we were expecting. We probably wont be back to dine in but I would consider getting take out from here if we were in the area.
Literally the best sushi in charlotte. Chef Jackie is always behind the sushi bar making great rolls. Be prepared for a wait during peak hours. Pick up take-out to skip the wait. Call about 40 minutes ahead and youll be right in and out. Try the sushi boat. Love, Love, Love this place. Cannot say enough great things about it.
Great sushi! The place is small but it's slammin! The locals love it. I'm from out of town and got a recommendation from a local business associate. I'm so glad I took him up on it! Amazing food and at a reasonable price. If you don't like crowds, order to go and enjoy! I wish I could take this place home with me!
Adding a 5 star review of this place is pretty redundant at this point, but it's so good it's worth one more guy saying it. Prices are unbeatable for the quality of food. The staff are awesome. I know I've never had a bad meal there. I seriously don't think I've ever even had a mistake in the preparation of my food. Be prepared to wait in almost any night - especially Friday and Saturday nights. But it's always worth it.
