My wife and I were in town but got in late... not as many restaurants open in uptown these days but I'm glad we found these guys. We don't drink but the food was awesome!! Super cool ambience. Thanks for the stellar pub burger and shrimp & grits!!
I was really excited to try this place, but left very disappointed. First of all, we ordered drinks and it took 20 minutes for the server to let me know they were out of what I'd ordered. My boyfriend was drinking alone for most of the meal. By the time my second choice arrived, we were half way done with our food. We ordered the Kansas City steak, mac and cheese, and mushrooms. When the steak arrived at our table, it was lukewarm. It tasted great, but I didn't come here to eat cold steak! I loved the mac and cheese and mushrooms, though. Both were hot and delicious. Also, if you're looking for something more quiet and intimate: this isn't it. The restaurant is VERY loud, to a point people at the bar were shouting at each other.
Good food, friendly staff and a good wine selection, what more do you need? They're proud of an oven that can get up to 1800 degrees which gives a steak a beautiful charred crust however don't overlook the burger which was juicy and also perfectly cooked. The tuna tartar gets a lot of publicity but was just average (not bad but just not special). Lamb dumplings were really tasty and recommended.
Had dinner and drinks there today (6/22/21) and it was excellent. The place has great ambiance with the friendliest wait staff possible. There were 4 in our group and all the dinners were top notch. Highly recommend checking this place out as you'll be thanking me when you do.
Made a reservation a couple days in advance, specifically for standard seating and not high-top. We even changed days to ensure standard seating. When we get to the restaurant we are told that we can sit at the bar or a high-top. The high-top was more cramped than any bus or airplane Ive ever been on. I wish I wouldve taken a picture of how you couldnt even look at two menus because there wasnt enough space. It was also pretty warm so it made for a very uncomfortable experience. We got up and left before ordering. Wouldnt recommend if you are relying on having a special night out.
