Yiding Hot Pot

THE BEST hotpot restaurant in Charlotte, and probably in the whole southeast region as well! Just had a group event in one of their private rooms Saturday night. The food was exceptional with a large variety to choose from and everything was super fresh and tasty. The private room is equipped with a top quality karaoke/sound system and is decorated very tastefully with great ambient light which sets just the right mood for a fun and cozy gathering! Our server was attentive. I love their drink menu too which has some very traditional Chinese drinks that I grew up drinking. I cannot believe there is a highend hotpot place I can go to in Charlotte that is so authentic and is centrally located. Everything was top notch! Thanks for making our event so special! I will definitely be a regular there! Will have another group gathering there again in two days!

Loved it! Customer service was excellent. The food portions were great. Plenty of parking. I ordered classic mala and house bone broths, it was good!!!! You can create your own dipping sauce. We will definitely be back again. So happy another hot pot place opened in Charlotte.

Service & Room with Karaoke 5 star Food & soup base 3 star at most. Its really nice to have a real hotpot restaurant in Charlotte, which we have been waiting for years. The soup baseis not authentic ( especially you are a spicy lover), even the hottest option is not spicy at all. For dishesNothing special. Seems like everything could be bought from super G nearby.

Disappointing from start to finish. Hot pot is all about the broth and this is the first hotpot experience where I didnt enjoy the soup none of them, we tried three (two werent available). Note that theres a no split pots, just individual servings unless you take a VIP room. Meat quality was decent, fish balls and pork dumplings okay. Veggies standard. Two ordered items never made it to our table and the sauce station is very basic. Garlics not fresh, but in oil. If you question my admittedly high standards, look up my other hotpot reviews, mainly in NYC and greater LA. We were beyond excited and couldnt wait for this restaurant to open, but in the future rather grab a Haidilao or Little Sheep broth pack at the SuperG next door (along with the trimmings) and make our own at home. Servers dont get the product they are selling and the owners were MIA. Yes, the have the robot bringing your dishes, but that was the only highlight. Giving it two star because it is a new business, but see no (tasty) reason to return.

Read about the news and announcements for this place before going there with a group of friends, and felt disappointed after the meal. - I attended two parties there. The first one started at 4:30pm in Room Y and the second one was booked for 6:30pm. Around 6pm, the party organizer was told by the restaurant that the room was not ready and changed the reservation to 7pm. Then near 7pm, the reservation was moved again to 7:30pm and to another room. By then I was told that the two parties were intended to be in the same room. Question for the restaurant: when you organize reservations, why and how could you be confident that a 30-people party can end in 2 hours that you book one for 4:30pm and the following one for 6:30pm? - We ordered the soup base with 5 hot pepper rating, which is the most spicy one. However, it is not spicy and just basically lack of flavor - more salt would help. We ran to Super G nearby and purchased some hotpot soup base. - We had a lot of "self-serving". Our server was nice and I would not blame him, but the restaurant should think about how to improve service for big groups. Need more effort on cleaning up empty dishes, adding broth, etc. There is a call for service button in the room; however if we really want to have a complete service, the server pretty much needs to be dedicated to our room without worrying about other tables. - Edamame, which is one of the appetizers offered at the self serve bar, was not cooked fully that day. - Even though each dish is under $10, the portion is not impressive thus overall it is easy to reach $40-$50 pp. Comparing to other hotspot places in NC, it is on a more expensive side. - Karaoke is okay. It is not the best I've experienced, but it worked. It is a good option for large party gatherings, but I will not choose this place if I just want to dine out with a few friends to enjoy food. As the only Chinese hotpot place in Charlotte, I wish it could improve from all perspectives and offer better customer experience.
