This year, The Mint Museum’s annual spring fundraising gala will also serve as the closing celebration for the amazingly popular African-Print Fashion Now! A Story of Taste, Globalization, and Style exhibition. This show reflects a dynamic and diverse dress tradition and the increasingly interconnected fashion worlds that it inhabits. The exhibition’s narrative will lend itself well to an evening that promises to be colorful, culturally rich, and reflective of our global community. We look forward to heralding your arrival at Coveted Couture, the most fashion-forward, fun, romantic, and glamorous event of the year!
This annual spring tradition is a black-tie dinner dance for 400 of Charlotte’s most prominent civic leaders, chic supporters, and museum patrons. This special evening is being presented again by Wells Fargo Private Bank, a loyal and generous corporate supporter of the museum. The always stylish Ashley and Scott Mattei are serving as our Gala Chairs this year. Ashley is a member of the Mint’s Fashion Task Force and Scott is a member of the museum’s Board of Trustees. They are also loyal Crown Society members. We are thrilled to have them leading this charge and know they will plan a beautiful, chic, and festive experience for all of our guests. We are also very pleased to welcome back dear museum friend, curator of last year’s The Glamour & Romance of Oscar de la Renta exhibition, and former editor at large of Vogue Andre Leon Talley as the Gala’s Honorary Chair.
Coveted Couture is designed to raise critical funds for The Mint Museum. Fashion will be at the forefront of the night and will play out in emotional, innovative, and unexpected ways. We look forward to seeing you there! More information, please contact Ellie Osborn at 704.337.2112
