An all-female congregation of esteemed instrumentalists brings the swing for a three-day JAZZ ROOM residency, in celebration of Women’s History Month. In support of the mission of music education and diversity, JAI is excited to offer a platform for the females that are instrumental in jazz historically and today. Women, like Mary Lou Williams and Alice Coltrane on piano and Melba Liston on Trombone, have been incredibly influential in the development of jazz. This is a unique opportunity to see a full ensemble of female jazz musicians and to learn about and celebrate the joy and energy they bring to the music. Performers: Karina Colis on drums; Roxy Coss on saxophone; Ingrid Jenson on trumpet; Ariel Pocock North Carolina native on piano; Kuriko Sugawa on bass.
