March is National Nutrition Month, and to showcase its fresh, fun new spring menu, Waltonwood Cotswold will be hosting its first Taste of Waltonwood event on Friday, March 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the senior living community (5215 Randolph Rd in Charlotte). In addition to fun interactive cooking demonstrations and various cooking stations featuring seasonal spring fare, the residents and guests will have the opportunity to plant an indoor vegetable and herb garden and take it home with them. This special event is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in attending the Taste of Waltonwood event is asked to RSVP by calling (704) 496-9310.
“What is unique about our dining experience is that we perform tableside cooking demonstrations and present weekly live-action stations for residents to enjoy,” said Michael Norman, director of culinary services at Waltonwood Cotswold. “Hospitality is top of mind at our community, and our goal is to provide an unforgettable experience to our residents and their guests. We hand select each season’s menu to suit the residents’ preferences. All the food is fresh, delicious and truly a form of art. My team and I look forward to showcasing some of the newest items on our menu.”
The tasting stations will feature chilled strawberry champagne soup, grilled Panzanella salad, herb-crusted tenderloin on crostini, spicy apricot wings, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus and more. The pastry chef-attended station will showcase savory crepes with different filling options. All the food is fresh, delicious and beautifully created. Waltonwood Cotswold recently began working with local farms and produce vendors to ensure they provide residents with local, sustainably sourced and fresh ingredients. “Every member of our culinary team is dedicated to creating an unforgettable dining experience for our residents, and we are excited to share their talents with the local public,” said Nichola Johnson, executive director of Waltonwood Cotswold. “The Taste of Waltonwood is a wonderful opportunity to show the local community that dining at Waltonwood is much more than eating a meal, it is a culinary experience.”
