The day’s festivities will wrap up with the spectacular Tega Cay fireworks display beginning at 9:30 p.m. (schedule subject to change in the event of inclement weather). Due to the fact that other shows around the area have been canceled we are anticipating a potentially larger than normal crowd this year for our firework show. As such, we will be altering the way traffic is handled prior to and during the show this year.
IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU READ THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE DECIDING TO ATTEND THIS EVENT.
- The parking lot at the Tega Cay Golf & Conference Center will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
- Once that parking lot is full, only people who live on or off of Molokai Dr. will be allowed through the ID check point. Anyone not living on or off of Molokai Dr. will be directed to Runde Park or back to the Tega Cay Elementary School parking lots.
- Once the parking lot is full at Runde Park, an ID check point will be established at Tega Cay Elementary School. This is being done in an effort to control traffic on Tega Cay Dr. Officers will direct everyone at that time that does not live on the peninsula to park at TCES until those parking lots are full. Only people who have ID showing they live on the peninsula will be allowed to continue to their home.
- Once TCES parking lots are full, anyone not living on the peninsula will be turned around until the firework show is completed and outbound traffic is underway.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARK ON TEGA CAY DR. This includes the shoulders of the road and the median.
There are plenty of places around town where the fireworks can be viewed. You do not have to come up to the Golf & Conference Center to see them.
The ID check points are necessary to prohibit traffic safety issues with road blockages and to ensure emergency personnel are able to respond to any calls for service. If you live on the peninsula or in the Molokai Dr. area, make sure your guests have arrived by 6 PM to avoid any issues. All walkers, golf-carters and bikes will be allowed to travel to the show.
Parking lots will NOT be limited to “residents only” or “peninsula residents only.” They will strictly be on a first come, first served basis.
