Myers Park Baptist Church is excited to bring New York Times columnist and best-selling author, David Brooks, to speak in Charlotte. In addition to writing for the New York Times, Brooks is a regular commentator on PBS NewsHour, NPR's All Things Considered, and NBC's Meet the Press. He teaches at Yale University and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Brooks' 2015 book, The Road to Character, was a #1 New York Times best seller. Brooks' popularity has soared during the turmoil of today's political climate. His focus on values and character attracts audiences from both the left and the right. One of MPBC's goals in bringing Brooks to Charlotte is to help bridge the divisiveness within our community by sponsoring a moderate voice that all sides can listen to and learn from. Brooks will be available for a book signing prior to his presentation. VIP tickets include a meet and greet cocktail hour with Brooks after the show.
