McColl Center for Art + Innovation is a nationally acclaimed artist residency and contemporary art space in Charlotte, North Carolina. Located in the former Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Uptown Charlotte, McColl Center houses nine individual artist studios, more than 5,000 square feet of exhibition space, and multiple common-use spaces, including a studio for large-scale sculpture fabrication. We invite artists to take risks in their processes and explore their ideas within the context of Charlotte. We welcome the visiting public to connect with contemporary art and artists through exhibitions and public programs.

I've waited to go here for years and I hate to say I was a little underwhelmed. It's an amazing space and I'm SO glad they were able to rescue the church facade, but it wasn't nearly as big as I had pictured it and there wasn't much in the downstairs gallery space. Even so, it's great what they are doing for the art community in Charlotte.
A wonderful experience and great place for private events. Each art room provides a wonderful space for Creatives to do what they are gifted to do.
Beautiful space and art! The staff were great as well!
5 Stars isn't enough! The art exhibits are must-see and the venue itself is beautiful, historic, and thoughtfully preserved. The "Spaces Between" exhibition is timely and thought-provoking. Furthermore, we hosted a wedding here and can't say enough great things. James is absolutely the kindest, most helpful programmer and helped us execute a unique event in his stunning venue. Even with a rained-out pandemic wedding, he was so accommodating and remained solution oriented. Did I mention how gorgeous this building is? Thank you, sincerely, to James and the McColl Center!! Will definitely be returning to enjoy their future exhibits and support a Charlotte mainstay.
Several residents share their collective pieces. Installments, exhibitions, films and family workshops are all part of their offerings. McColl operates off of donations. Please consider giving if you have the ability when visiting, however no one will be turned away. Great staff. Friendly and welcoming resident artists.
