Lake Norman State Park

Gorgeous park! There are over 20 picnic tables, each with its own coal grill. A beautiful dock with fantastic views of the lake from which you can witness the most amazing sunsets. There are many bike trails with a few free air stations. The campsites are clean and spread out quite nicely. The cabins are clean and seem to be well maintained. All in all this is one of the most wonderful state parks I've been to.

This is absolutely a great park. I will definitely take my family back here because they have almost everything you need to make a great part. The cookout areas with the grills are really nice and secluded back into the woods. It is only a short walk to the beach area for the kids to play after you eat. Restrooms are somewhat clean for a state park but overall I would definitely call this place a keeper. They have a nice beach area and a nice grilling area with picnic tables.

This was a beautiful park. It seemed to be very well maintained. Trails were clear but very rooty, so you will need to watch your step. Lots of educational information on the grounds as part of the trails. The short trail we went on seemed safe enough to venture off the path but of course you need to be aware of the surroundings. To family's, not really buggy friendly on the hiking trails. The shelters looked very nice. The bathrooms were very clean. A family bathroom is available. The gift shop and info center was pristine. Cute things to buy reasonably priced. Some snacks and drinks too.

Our first visit to the Lake Norman State park cabin, which seems brand new to the park itself. Unlike another park cabin, they have high ceilings with built-in ceiling fans with extra-wide view windows that is an excellent addition that you feel closer to the neutral. Very well planned construction with extra space inside and outside. You will also get an outdoor table with fire pit space for cooking and family fun. We shall go back soon! Oh... I forgot to mention that they also have a super clean shower and restroom.

Fun place to go hiking and biking. Many trails all over. Definitely need to come down here to camp so I can hike or bike all of these trails at one point. Very nice scenery. Can fish, kayak, or peddle boat for a fee.
