Weekend brewery hopping—it’s now a thing. With the boom in Charlotte craft beer over the past few years, more and more locals are flocking to the breweries early in the afternoon to enjoy a pint of their favorite local beer and a leisurely afternoon on a sun-drenched patio.
Here’s our pick for the best way to make that sweet 48 hours of freedom count.
Trolley Pub Charlotte helps revelers take their day drinking to the next level with an open-air, pedal-powered, pub-crawling, drinking machine tour of breweries and bars in the historic NoDa neighborhood or throughout Uptown Charlotte. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors, a frothy pour and a little exercise.
There are two ways to book the pedal-powered BYOB bar. One choice is to reserve a Private Tour. For a $400 fee, all 14 seats are yours. This is a great option for birthdays, bachelor or bachelorette parties, and other group celebrations. If you’re partying with a smaller squad, you can opt to book a $30 seat on one of the Mixer Tours. All tours run for two hours, and itineraries include three stops—either through the NoDa destination route or the Uptown destination route—selected by the riders. If you can’t decide, ask the driver to choose his favorite stops.
