Nice neighborhood restaurant to sit back and relax. Food was well seasoned and tasty. Had Owen as a server. He was very intentional to keep stopping by table to meet our needs. He suggested the trout and it was good. Drink was well made and they have a few vegan options. Parking is difficult in this community. There are a few spots out back, but give yourself time to secure street parking in this neighborhood at most spots.

Food is normally great but our fish and chips was over cooked. Great atmosphere and cozy fireplace in the back.

My wife and I recently came to Charlotte's Midwood Plaza area to visit a good friend of ours, and having lived abroad decided to go to The Workman's Friend as it reminded us of our home away from home. The pub itself filled us with so much nostalgia, in our eyes looking like a fusion of some of favourite pubs back across the pond, and the atmosphere and friendliness created by the staff and other patrons did not disappoint. The food was amazing; I had The Working Man's Burger, and my wife the salmon charcuterie board- each tasted divine and suited our palette greatly. The drinks were of fair and reasonable price, too, and tasted amazing! For instance, a pint of Guinness is around $7, which from -$ matches what we paid for our drinks across the way. We will happily make the 3 hour drive again just to come back to The Workman's Friend!

I came in with friends after dinner to enjoy some drinks. They have an open air patio where on the other side people smoke. I didnt even notice the difference, while i was lighting a cigarette being on the wrong side i was immediately approached by the security guy with dreadlocks yelling at me and taking the cigarette out of my hand and throwing it aggressively on the floor. I understand that security personnels job is hard, but being so rude and aggressive this way was out of line. I have never been treated this way in any country i visited, and people like this represent an aggressive America, what a shame. I went in and saw the reviews about the same guy being so aggressive from a long time ago and obviously nothing has been done about it, it is concerning. So be safe and dont go there. I would absolutely not recommend this place if you want to enjoy your night

Showed up with a party of 6 at 2PM on Saturday. Restaurant was probably at 20% capacity yet the hostess said she couldn't accommodate us because of reservations. We went across the street instead and ate tacos. 1 hour later I popped back in and there were still mostly all empty tables inside Workman's. This place has mastered the ability to not want people to dine in their restaurant.
