Visiting with family in Shelby and went to Newgrass for lunch. Great experience! Staff warmly greeted us and were happy to share knowledge about the beers and food items. If you are undecided about any of the beers on tap, ask for a sample! Menu has unique gastronomical options. We enjoyed the porkbelly sammy with crinkle cut fries and the kale quesadillas. Delicious! The food portions are generous enough to share. Lots of seating options--downstairs and upstairs. Cozy seating area to just sit, sip, and talk. Try your hand playing the indoor table shuffleboard!

Really cool place with a fun vibe. The beer is outstanding, but too much sediment in it for my taste. I'm not sure if this is purposeful, or if they need better filtration. They also don't do flights anymore because "the brewer doesn't want to". I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to encourage people to try more of your product. I recommend skipping the food too. It's not very good with the exception of the cheese curds.

My wife and I visited this place on 3/26/23. We had the Adult Grilled Cheese and some homemade chips as well as some delicious beer. The food was delicious!!!! Brady was awesome and full of knowledge not only on the beers they produce there, but the building and its history. Well definitely be back!!!

Really good beer, especially the sours. Down side is a beer is like $9... not an exaggeration. And the decorations on the walls are mostly rules.. kind of a vibe killer. You'd think they would want people to be relaxed and enjoy a beer, not paranoid about stacking glasses or setting your drink on the game table. You still see an employee or two wearing a mask (in 2023), even if it's just around their neck. When I was living in California with no mask in sight, they were still saying "mask required at the bar" at Newgrass. Fair to say it's operated by extreme liberals.. which is also a vibe killer. But, excellent beer! Just really expensive.. like REALLY expensive.
