Rooster's Wood-fired Kitchen - Uptown

Went for a casual date night on Saturday. No real expectations, so we were pleasantly surprised. Our server (Keith??) was absolutely amazing. Genuine and happy, and he made great recommendations (bonus points for not automatically going with the most expensive item which is very rarely the best item on the menu). I had the scallops and they were as well-cooked as any restaurant (see: every other Google review I have written). My husband went with the short ribs, as recommended. They were tasty, but a little fatty towards the end; I think that's typical of short ribs though. For sides we got mac and cheese and brussel sprouts. Both were delightful. Not our typical "stop in for a casual meal" or "let's get dressed up and spend too much money" kind of place, but we will definitely go back when the opportunity arises.
What a great place! Service was spot-on, friendly and very attentive. Food was even better. We had four people and have everything from salmon, to rotisserie chicken to pizza to you name it. You have GOT to try the fried corn. Yum! Warm atmosphere and very cozy.

Had lunch here yesterday. Phenomenal all around. Just ask for Scott and do whatever he recommends. The burger highlights their ground-in-house blend well. Cocktails really let the spirit shine, which is a good thing; loved the smoky Old Fashioned and the mezcal one. Ive probably had Shrimp & Grits 100 times, and I live in Charleston; theirs is definitely in my top 3. This is now my Charlotte go-to. Looking forward to trying more dishes.
Really enjoyed smoked wings with the Mac&Cheese. I sat at the bar to eat and enjoyed great service and a bourbon. If you enjoy a good selection of liquors and food that is a little different. Make your way in.
Food is great, prices are reasonable. But none of the communal tables on the first floor have seat backs, their just bar stools even at the tables. And the Servers are nice but aloof. We've been there twice and it was the same exact experience both times
