Hot Glass Alley
6-26-22 Recommended by a friend and we would have not thought of blowing glass as an activity. Great find! Making your own glass was better than I would have imagined. I wasn't sure what to expect but this was pretty damn neat. You can make several items ranging in price from $70-$120 per piece. We both made a high ball glass ($95 each) and each one took about 30 minutes to complete. Eric was our dude walking us through the process, explaining the equipment, making sure things turned out well. He is knowledgeable and good at what we does. Lots of attention to detail. You get color options so you can customize a tad. Will add that they keep your finished piece for at least 5 days to cool off etc. They will ship to you for a fee. So if you are from out of town, keep in mind that you will not get your creation the same day. Plan accordingly. If you do the make your own thing, expect to sweat a tad. The room with furnaces etc is very hot as the furnaces get up to 2100 degrees. Dress accordingly. They provide Gatorade/water but you can bring your own. They allow and encourage you to take pictures/videos and ask questions about the process. Safety goggles are provided and I felt safe the entire time. The make your own days fill quickly and far in advance. We got put on a cancellation list and luckily got in within a couple of weeks. There is a reason this fills. This is neat and educational. HGA does demos on a Friday night each month and the gallery is neat to peruse. I can say that I didn't realize making glass was so tedious and is definitely an artform. These folks here are great at working with their hands. I completely understand the price of items now with the maintenance, materials, time, utilities, etc. I enjoyed learning about the art of blowing glass and have a newfound respect for these folks. You will too.
Fantastic experience at their date night learning to Blow Glass events. Jake and the whole crew are exceptional from their craft all the way to their joy to talk. Highly recommend doing one of their events if you have a chance. We have also just dropped in to purchase some glass from them and there are some beautiful options to choose from. Drop in and check the hot shop out.
Great day and experience at Hot Glass Alley. Jake was great and very patient with our group. So much fun!
Super friendly staff that took the time to explain about the shop, artists and events. Also got to watch artists creating beautiful pieces! Pricing was reasonable on items and there was a wide variety of things to choose from.. We are gonna come back for a date night event that they have once a month! If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping in
My boyfriend and I went here before Halloween in October for a hot glass blowing demonstration and it was by far one of the coolest experiences for us! They were all so talented and informative. I got a few hand-blown pumpkins for family members as gifts and they absolutely love them. Cant wait to go back!
