Alexander Michaels has good food and an enjoyable atmosphere. It was surprisingly dark in the restaurant considering it was a typical sunny Carolina afternoon but it added to the pub like feel. They had the World Cup game on which was nice. The food wasnt too expensive and the service was pretty fast. Only issue was our waitress was a little abrupt and messed up a side order but it wasnt a huge deal since it was just a side. Overall a good place to go with family especially since its in the charming 4th ward and it is a little piece of Charlotte history.

This restaurant is adorable, and the customer service is amazing. I am vegan. Not only did I finally find a wonderful vegan burger (with some adjustments) at a "normal" restaurant uptown, but I felt confident eating it because the waitress was very knowledgeable on veganism! Most places uptown serve frozen patties or homemade patties that are not satisfying to me. My non vegan friends loved their burgers and pasta, too! We went on Saturday, and are returning tonight (Monday) because my friend from NYC asked to go before his flight home tonight! Says it is the best burger he has had in Charlotte. If you want a great meal with wide varity on the menu; head to the beautiful historic fourth ward and eat at Alexander Michael's!

It was a cute place, love the history. I guess I might be spoiled or just got something that wasn't great. I tried the turkey club croissant sandwich, it was okay, a bit dry. My boyfriend got the Ruben with fries which he really liked the sandwich itself. The fries were horrible. They were rubbery, like they has been sitting under the heat lamp too long. Customer service was great.

Wow what a place. Little family restaurant; we went on a very busy night during the dinner rush and we were told there would be a wait so we stood at the bar and the owner himself found us and seated us earlier than expected. Food quality was very good and the service was excellent. Great atmosphere and ambiance. It is blatantly apparent by how busy this place is that they are well above par in all aspects of restauranteurism. Highly recommended.
