Had my first visit there Friday night (Feb 9, 2018) and had an excellent experience. The live Jazz was superb and not too loud either, even sitting about 10 feet away. Menu is well sized and has options for the whole family. I order the "Wash Day Blues" a dish of red beans, rice, and sausage; flavorful beans and the andouille sausage had a perfect char. Parking is taken care of by complementary valet. Formal enough to take a date, yet casual enough to bring your weird uncle. The second level also has an outdoor seating patio.
Great service, our waitress was very prompt and courteous. Our food arrived quickly and hot. She also has good advice to offer for desert. Which we took her up on. Our experience here was very good as usual. As close to authentic new Orleans style cooking as you can get without actually being there.
The restaurant blocks the sidewalk with a desk and surly parking attendants. Not to mention traffic cones where they try to prevent you from parking on a public street. After that theyre put on the sidewalk and block walkers, especially those with strollers. The food? Some of its pretty good. Id like it better if they werent jerks to the people who live in the neighborhood.
Got the Blackened Ribeye cooked to perfection. Warm, Pink middle as requested. The mashed potatoes were warm and creamy. Broccoli was huge and cooked to perfection. This is one of my favorite, if not my favorite restaurant in Charlotte!
Quaint space and good food. Service was polite and professional. Certainly a nice place for a couple to have time together.
