The Queen City is perfect in many ways. The sprawling canopy, active community, generally cool stuff to do. What has been missing? A consistently solid place to get breakfast tacos - that all changed for me today. After finding parking with ease and passing through the threshold into a place that smelled like tacos Ive only dreamt of and felt like home, we were confronted with a simple menu that was concise, yet bountiful. There was no other choice in my head, breakfast tacos with potatoes, eggs, cheese, chorizo, and an incredible amount of sauces and salsa to boot. Is this heaven? The quality of these tacos with the melty cheese and greasy delectable chorizo is unmatched in this city. Perhaps even the state. When I tasted it I had one of those moments like the food critic in Ratatouille when he tastes the dish and flashes back to a childhood memory shortly before sobbing at the table in the restaurant. If that wasnt all enough they have a monkey lamps in both bathrooms along with some really neat tile work and generally swaggy design. 11/10 would recommend.

El Malo has such a fun, festive vibe the space is cool, colorful, and full of energy. We came for the Mexican food and were not disappointed. The chips were super fresh and crisp, and every salsa we tried was packed with flavor. The tacos were amazing super flavorful with great texture and fresh ingredients. Its a great spot for a night out with friends or just to enjoy some seriously tasty food in a lively atmosphere. Cant wait to come back!

Carne asada and Al pastor tacos were both excellent. Flavorful, traditional preparation that really hit the spot. Ordered chips and salsa and a marg for national margarita day. Filling but light enough for a day hopping around plaza.

This place has .... by far... the best buritto in Charlotte!! I highly recommend. I am from San Diego and moved here a few months ago so I know great mexican food. Incredible Burritos made with freshest ingredients! The actually make their tortillas in House!!! Highly recommend this place

Simply the best California Burrito east of the Mississippi. Up there with the best of them in San Diego, LA, SF. All of them. Why can't more restaurants in Charlotte try like this place clearly does.
